Episode 154 - Nabal and Abigail Engage David” (Part 2)

Episode Summary

This is the completion of the story that is narrated in 1 Samuel 25. The second part deals with Abigail’s profuse apology (in Nabal’s behalf) and the lavish present she has put together for David. David was mollified by her words and actions. He admitted that what she did kept him from killing every man who worked for Nabal. Of course, Nabal himself would not have been spared. When Abigail told her husband David’s reaction he was stunned and became, as it were, like a stone. This was amazing in that he had been having a feast and becoming drunk just the night before. In a few days, the Israelite God took Nabal’s life. Once Abigail became a widow, David sought her as a wife. She and one other woman both became David’s wives.
