Episode 19 - King David and the Prophet Nathan
EPISODE SUMMARY
In this week's episode, I discuss the consequences of David and Bath-Sheba's affair, as well as the murder of Uriah.
EPISODE NOTES
In last week's episode, I recounted David's most infamous story. One where he, without a doubt, is the antagonist.
This week, I will discuss the aftermath of David's cruel endeavors.
As you know, David slept with Bath-Sheba, impregnated her, and orchestrated her husband's murder, as well as the murder of several other Israelite soldiers.
Of course, God saw this as the grave, evil sin that it is, and as a result, sent the prophet Nathan to confront David.
Nathan tells David the story of two men, one rich, and one poor. In the story, the rich man takes the poor man's pet lamb whom he loved as one of his children, slaughters it, and serves it in a feast to his guests.
This story, of course, comes with a clear moral.
What was David's reaction to it? And what was his punishment?
I answer these two questions in this week’s episode of The Bible You Thought You Knew, so tune in now to learn everything you need to know about David’s story!
